In Fiscal Years 2017 and 2018, all departments collaborated on enhancing customer service, both to internal and external customers. During citywide training in November, 2017, staff learned about Missouri City’s eight tenets of The Show Me Experience, techniques to better serve our customers such as “L.E.A.P. (Listen, Empathize, Ask, Produce)” and to remember that everyone has a story. To promote this initiative, the City Manager’s Office started the “Show Me Experience Spotlight” featuring team members who exemplify The Show Me Experience. Employees may nominate their colleagues or themselves for this new recognition.
